We have a much loved gorgeous, well trained golden doodle called Rodney. He is 10 years and expects at least 2 walks a day of at least 30 minutes each time, off the lead so that he can explore and flush out the odd deer! He is generally self sufficient other than being fed, walked, dried off (if wet) and having his tummy rubbed. Otherwise he is undemanding, enjoying his own space. He is not allowed on the furniture. He can be left for periods of time without a problem but does like to be with his 'pack', always being delighted on your return.

House

The house is located in a rural quiet hamlet. It was originally a Grange and Ecurie and was converted in to a small chalet around 1980. We have renovated it over the last 6 years. The living space is upstairs with virtually wall-to-wall doors and window affording magnificent views of Les Arcs 2000m across the valley, including views of the Mt Pourri and the Aguille Rouge. On the same floor is a spacious balcony. The living space is open plan with a large woodburning stove and well equipped kitchen. Downstairs there are two double bedrooms, one en-suite and a family bathroom. At the front of the property is an extension that we rent out as a 'bunk room' for people who want to come and ski, walk, cycle or just visit this beautiful part of the French Alps. The living space is cosy and attractive.

The Chalet has a homely feel. It is very comfortable and cosy with the most stunning views. Being on the sunny side of the valley it is flooded with warm sunshine when sunny. A lovely mountainside forest backs onto the hamlet with a number of local tracks for daily walks with Rodney. There is an ensuite shower room and a family bathroom. The Smart TV provides UK programmes but there is also an Amazon Firestick that provides lots of other options. Wifi is also provided. The Chalet provides easy access to several ski resorts including La Rosiere, St Foy, Les Arcs, Tignes and Val d'Isere with opportunities for skiing, snow shoeing and other winter related activities.

The Chalet is relatively small and compact with a spiral staircase. We tend to use the woodburner as our main source of heating in the living area with electric heaters downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped allowing you to cook almost anything. As it will be winter, you will need to be equipped with suitable footwear and clothing to deal with sub zero temperatures and potentially deep snow if we're lucky to have significant snowfall. The hamlet is accessed by a single track road. We have a garage in which you can park a car (although the opening is narrow). There is also plenty of parking which is located up above the chalet. A tarmac and grass path of about 50 metres steeply ascends to the property. We use rubber mats for grip in the winter and you will need to clear these of snow if there is snowfall. Likewise, the road to the village and surrounding roads are cleared twice daily after new snow. It is essential that you have a car with snow tyres or chains. as it is a 20 minute drive to the nearest towns (Bourg St Maurice/La Rosiere). Whilst you may …

Tourism and Leisure

The Chalet is within 15-30 minutes of a number of the worlds best ski resorts and all that they have to offer. The views from the Chalet are breathtaking. If you love mountains, the opportunity for mountain sports but also solitude then this is the place for you. There are some great restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages and ski resorts.
